COMMON QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK
- Does it hurt?
Answer: Numbing cream is used to attempt to minimize discomfort. Most people only feel minor pressure of pain, less discomfort than a typical tattoo.
- Does Microblading feel like a tattoo?
Answer: Microblading is not as uncomfortable as a traditional tattoo. The needle size to perform this procedure is much smaller than a traditional tattoo needle that requires a tattoo gun.
- How long does Microblading last?
Answer: With your 4-6 week touch-up, Microblading can last 1-2 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how often you get touch-ups.
- What to avoid 24 hours before Microblading?
Answer: Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, or Ibuprofen 24 hours before treatment, Do not take omega3 (fish oil) 1 week before treatment. Do not tan or have intense sun exposure three days before treatment. Avoid hair removing services such as waxing, plucking, and threading at least three days before your procedure.
- Can I have caffeine and/or alcohol before my procedure?
Answer: Avoid drinks/foods containing caffeine & alcohol at least 24 hours prior to your procedure; help minimize any oozing or swelling.
- Are my brows shaved off before Microblading?
Answer: No, I will not shave your eyebrows. During your initial touch-up visit, I will likely use soft wax, tweezers for plucking, and scissors to nicely shape the brows prior to service.
- What to expect after Microblading?
Answer: With proper care, your skin should be completely healthy 4-6 weeks after the procedure. It will feel tender and uncomfortable, but that will disappear in a few days. The healing/scabbing process starts immediately, which will cause the brows to appear dark, then darker the next day. Once the scabs have fallen off, your brows will appear lighter and/or blotchy. A few days after you have completely lost your scabs, the pigment will start to fill in.
- Can I wash my face or apply facial products?
Answer: Do not allow water, lotion, soap, or makeup to touch the treated area for the first seven days. You can wash your face, but wash and apply products while avoiding the brows; if your brows get wet during showers or washing your face, blot with a dry towel and allow them to dry before applying ointment thoroughly.
- Do I still have to pluck or get my brows waxed?
Answer: Yes! Microblading does not stop the growth of your natural hair. Waxing and plucking are permitted once brows are completely healed to maintain cleanliness and shape.
- How many times can I get Microblading?
Answer: Microblading can be performed up to two times a year. Once the pigment from the procedure begins to fade noticeably, you are free to have your touch-up.
- Does Microblading damage my natural brows?
Answer: There is no evidence that Microblading damages the growth of natural brows.
- How do I maintain my brows after Microblading?
Answer: After your brows are completed, maintain your brows' longevity. Once you have completed the scabbing process, you should always apply a facial moisturizer with SPF 30 or higher, hats or umbrellas, and frequent shaded areas to avoid harmful effects of the sun. These actions will prevent the premature fading of the pigment.
